Wednesday morning, we woke up and the wind was still howling. To sail the 14 or so miles to Anegada in the big seas, or be a bunch of wimpy, whiny sailors? It was unanimous - we were headed to Anegada. After pulling the dinghy onto it's cradle to protect it while underway, off we went. Sails up! We passed the first boat - I couldn't tell if it was a cat or a mono-hull, because we were going so fast. Wind speeds of up to 28 mph, with swells at about 8 to 10 feet.....the photos below don't do it justice.
Once on Anegada, we rented a 1994 Jeep and headed to Cow Wreck Beach for a few beers (Belle said to tell everyone hello), then to Loblolly for a painkiller. Great day.
For dinner, we ate lobsters at Potters by the Sea and had the place to ourselves. There was a Clemson flag on the ceiling that was just begging for "modification." With the owners approval, we just had to do it.
